Formative Assessment is a process. Once you have your learning progression designed you will have learning objectives that can be measured. Many of these assessments can be given on ASSISTments making the process much more efficient. Not only are the students included in the assessment results immediately (they get immediate feedback on correctness), but many times students get instant tutoring allowing for individualized adjustments in teaching. Then you get the data instantly and can move to adjusting your teaching accordingly.
