Welcome to ASSISTments.

Neil Heffernan, Project Director and Co-Founder, Professor of Computer Science, Director of the PhD Program in Learning Sciences and Technologies

If you are here you have visited our registration page and have requested the code needed to create a new ASSISTments account. Word has spread about ASSISTments and the number of teachers requesting accounts has risen rapidly. As a grant-funded project we have constraints on our capacity to accommodate the increasing interest. To ensure our current students still get good service, we are asking that teachers, school administrators and general educators interested in getting accounts first to learn a bit about ASSISTments.

Cristina Heffernan, Head of Professional Development and Co-Founder, Math Education Specialist

You will be escorted through 4 pages and on each one you will be asked to do something. Once you have done the task you should move on to the next page. At the 4th page you will be given the code. This code will allow you to start the account creation process. You will be getting what we call a "teacher" account. As you begin to use ASSISTments you will want to get more privileges that fit your role in your school but we do not give those privileges out unless we can verify who people really are.

As you will learn on the following pages ASSISTments is a tool that teachers manage and students, teachers and administrators use. Some parents and tutors use it with classes of one or two students and that is fine you just need to think of yourself as the teacher and have the learner you are working with be the student.

We are excited that you are excited about getting an account in ASSISTments. The more you know going in the better your experience with your new account will be so enjoy the following material.
