Professor Heffernan’s Gates funded project calls for a plan to reach one million students by 2016. As such, WPI and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (which includes many middle schools principals, despite the NAESP name) announced their partnership this month in a few ways.
- The NAESP homepage now displays a prominent link to ASSISTments.
- The NAESP Principal Magazine had a announcement of our partnership.
- Executive Director Gail Connelly highlighted the partnership in her column this month in Principal Magazine.
- NAESP released a white paper entitled "Formative Assessment Systems: Finding the Right Fit for Your School" that talks about ASSISTments. This paper is one of the 5 white papers in their series on Best Practices.
Professor Heffernan says “I am delighted to be partnering with NAESP, because the role of adoption of ASSISTments is mediated by leadership support.” ASSISTments will be presented at a workshop for principals in DC, part of this work. ASSISTments will also be presented at the 2012 Annual NAESP Conference in Seattle.
